Good news: Manila is officially part of Air Canada's flight roster, marking the airline's first-ever destination in the Philippines. Whether you're visiting family and friends or are keen on touring British Columbia (B.C.), this new flight route now offers you a chance to skip the long layovers and fly non-stop to this bustling seaport city.
Check out what we know so far about this upcoming flight route.
Here's What We Know About the Upcoming Air Canada Flights from Vancouver to Manila and Vice-Versa
In a statement to the media, Air Canada's Executive Vice President, Revenue and Network Planning, Mark Galardo said, "We are thrilled to add Manila to our global network with new, year-round, non-stop service from Vancouver, Air Canada's Pacific gateway hub."
The Philippines is currently Air Canada's largest market in Asia without any direct flights from the airline. However, after its April 2 launch, Air Canada will become the only Canadian carrier to serve the Vancouver-Manila-Vancouver route. This will be the airline's 12th destination in the Asia-Pacific region, joining other Asian destinations like Japan, South Korea, People's Republic of China, Hong Kong SAR, Thailand, and Singapore.
"B.C. is home to a significant Filipino Canadian community who make incredible contributions to our province and want to stay connected to friends and family overseas. A new direct route between Vancouver and Manila will make it faster and easier for people to travel between these two cities, including for business and trade opportunities. This will strengthen cultural and economic ties between Canada and the Philippines," said B.C. Premier David Eby in a statement to the media.
Interested travelers can begin booking their flights via the Air Canada website, travel agencies, and Air Canada contact centers. Currently, if you visit the Air Canada website, you can find roundtrip flights to and from Vancouver for as low as CAD 1,375 or roughly P56,630.
