Time loops mixed with heartache is the surefire emotional combo of the K-drama A Time Called You. In the Netflix original Korean series, a grieving girlfriend finds herself back in time, face-to-face with the lookalike of her deceased lover. The twist? She, too, inhabits the body of a totally different person.
But while the Korean version has made it to the local Top 10 list on Netflix, the story had already rocked the screen in 2019 as the award-winning Taiwanese drama Someday or One Day. Ahead, check out the K-adaptation’s faces of the story and their original Taiwanese counterparts.

1. Jeon Yeo Bin as Han Jun Hee and Kwon Min Ju - Ko Chia Yen as Huang Yu Xuan and Chen Yun Ru
The Korean version of the story finds its lead with Jeon Yeo Bin, who previously starred in other K-drama hits like Vincenzo. Here, the actress starts off the series as Han Jun Hee, a distraught young woman grieving for her boyfriend Koo Yeon Jun, who passed away in a plane crash. Still, she holds out hope, as she receives flowers from an unnamed sender on her birthday.
One day, she receives another mysterious package with a cassette player inside. Jun-hee hits play, and she finds herself transported to the year 1998–not as her, but in the body of a girl named Kwon Min Ju, who happens to be a schoolmate of her deceased boyfriend’s doppelganger.
In the original Taiwanese drama Someday or One Day, the female lead is played by actress Ko Chia Yen, who portrays both the bereaved Huang Yu Xuan and schoolgirl Chen Yun Ru.
2. Ahn Hyo Seop as Koo Yeon Jun and Nam Si Heon - Greg Hsu as Wang Quan Sheng and Li Zi Wei
In the first part of the drama, the Business Proposal star Ahn Hyo Seop fills the role of Koo Yeon Jun, the ill-fated boyfriend of Jun Hee. When she transports back in time, Jun Hee finds his likeness in the 17-year-old Nam Si Heon.
The 2019 Taiwanese drama, however, stars the Marry My Dead Body actor Greg Hsu, portraying the role of Wang Quan Sheng and the younger Li Zi Wei.
3. Kang Hoon as Jung In-gyu - Patrick Shih as Mo Jun Jie
In the 1998 scenes, Kang Hoon of Little Women takes on the character of Jung In Gyu, the school friend of Yeon Jun, who also happens to be infatuated with Min Ju.
Meanwhile, in the original Taiwan edition, the character is played by actor and model Patrick Shih, who goes under the name of Mo Jun Jie.
