What do malls, fried chicken, and imported brandy have in common? They’re all part of what keeps some of the richest Filipino businessmen on the Forbes’ new list of billionaires in 2025.

A total of 3,028 billionaires are included in this year's list, which is 247 more than in 2024. “Not only are there more of them, but they’re richer than ever, worth $16.1 trillion in total—up nearly $2 trillion over 2024,” Forbes said. In the Philippines, familiar names continue to cash in on real estate, retail, logistics, and fast food.

Real estate giant Manuel Villar leads the pack again at the 117th spot with an estimated net worth of $17.2 billion from his extensive holdings in Vista Land, Golden MV, and AllHome. Close behind is ports and gaming magnate Enrique Razon Jr., who lands at 227th with a net worth of $10.9 billion, thanks to his international operations through International Container Terminal Services Inc. (ICTSI).

Notably, members of the Sy family continue to occupy a significant chunk of the list as heirs of the late Henry Sy Sr. Five of them—Henry Jr., Hans, Herbert, Harley, and Teresita—rank within the top 2,000, with shared interests in SM Investments, one of the country’s largest conglomerates spanning malls, banking, and property.
