She did so in quite a humorous way.

When we talk about body positivity, it's usually in terms of being content with one's complexion, weight, or even height. What is often left out of the conversation is body hair, specifically on women. For far too long, society has expected ladies to shave off any strands that grow on areas other than their heads. This is something GMA actress Valeen Montenegro is, frankly, quite sick of.

In a recent Instagram post, she can be seen donning a yellow maillot while raising her arms up. "Hair" seems to be sticking out of them. "Au naturel (all natural)," her caption reads.

A little zooming in shows that the strands are actually sea moss (lumot, as we Pinoys know it). As quirky and humorous as her post may be though, Valeen isn't joking at all with what she's trying to say. "Body hair is normal! It's natural! And we need to talk more about it!"

"We have an option to shave, wax and laser, but when other people criticize us for our 'imperfections' let’s all think and understand muna, what is perfection ba?" she poses to her followers.

This isn't the first time the comedienne has spoken up about her body. In the past, Valeen has talked about having a small chest. She shut down the insecurity by proudly proclaiming that "Flat is the new normal" in a similarly empowering Instagram post. While Valeen is well aware that her body may not be considered "perfect" by many, she states that she nourishes it because it still allows her to do things that make her happy.

The 31-year-old continues her statement by saying, "I don't get affected anymore when people point out my flaws. Don’t you think I know that by now? LOL."

"Just wanted to share this 'cause I think more girls need to hear it! Because stereotypes should be broken! Let's not compare ourselves to others and just love our own bodies! Its not about being the best. It’s about feeling the best!"
