A list of popular K-beauty trends won't be complete without a mention of straight brows. Everyone from Korean actors to pop stars, male or female, have the same arch-less shape for that soft, youthful look. However, the famous brow shape might not be the It look anymore, at least according to Korean makeup artist Ryan Lee.
"[K-Pop] Idols now prefer a rounded yet straight shape," he says at a live demo at the relaunch of Laneige. He explains that it's because it appears more natural and effortless, compared to a super-straight brow that looks heavily drawn on. The new shape encourages a slight arch with less pointed edges—"The point is to achieve a natural brow that's not too defined," says the makeup artist.
To achieve this new shape, Ryan recommends starting from the center of your brows when filling them in. Avoid applying too much product on the front of your brows to maintain a soft vibe. After, brush your brow hairs back and forth with a round spoolie to roughen them up a little and give them more texture.
