Sharon Cuneta lets fans in on the specifics of her long-running weight-loss journey through a social media post on February 3, 2025.
Now at 59, she has made the decision to push herself further to shed the last remaining pounds and achieve her ultimate goal. Looking back on her weight loss journey in 2016, Sharon relates going through the all-too-familiar cycle of progress and setbacks.
"I decided to lose weight slowly on my 50th birthday (2016). It’s been nine years of losing weight, gaining weight again, being happy and inspired, feeling disappointed and frustrated," she wrote. "So, I finally decided to step it up and lose the last several pounds this year."
"Nakakapagod. Nakakaiyak. Nakakagutom. Please pray for me. But most of all, para super healthy na talaga! [emojis]"

As Sharon's followers raise questions about her diet and fitness plan, the veteran actress reveals that her weight loss is largely attributed to her eating habits.
She is also quick to remind her followers to approach weight loss responsibly, "Please consult your doctor first kung gagawin ninyo ito!"
After subjecting herself to intense diet plans to kick off her fitness journey, she came to the realization that rapid weight loss comes with several risks, such as sagging skin and an unhealthy appearance.
Hence, she has learned to pace herself, using extreme diets only as a temporary boost before transitioning to a more sustainable, doctor-approved eating plan.
Tapos gagawin ko diet na prescribed by Doc Aivee @draivee and Doc Z @drzteo based on my body makeup and then normal eating uli ako."

One of the key takeaways from Sharon's post is her unique approach to eating, which she has carefully developed over the years. Unlike many Filipinos who struggle with reducing their rice intake, Sharon says rice has never been her weakness—bread is.
Because of this, she has learned to control her portions by only allowing herself small bites of the food she loves rather than completely depriving herself.
When it comes to indulging in desserts like cake, she takes a bite but doesn’t finish the entire slice. Kahit every two hours ako kumain, puro tikim lang."

'Di ako puedeng laging deprived kundi magbi-binge ako!"
A crucial part of Sharon's fitness evolution has been visualization, encouraging her followers to imagine their ideal selves whenever they feel discouraged.
For her, weight loss is not about eliminating food entirely, but about developing discipline, control, and a sustainable lifestyle. Love you all. [emojis]," she encourages.
