Despite their small size, these tattoos carry significant meanings for the actress.

Tattoos, no matter the size, often hold some meaning to them—just take Sarah Lahbati, who has a number of small and dainty ink adorning her.

One might think that they’re purely for aesthetics–and there’s nothing wrong with getting tattoos just for that–but for what these tattoos lack in size, they make up for with their big meanings. Get a glimpse at all of her minimalist tattoos (so far) and the hidden meanings behind some of them below.

1. ZK

On the back of Sarah's neck are the letters “Z” and “K” inked in red, which are the initials of her sons, Zion and Kai.

There's no denying that Sarah is a doting mom, and often, her best moments are when she spends time with them. Back in January, she brought her sons to watch Coldplay’s concert in Manila. She previously shared photos of her children on Instagram accompanied by a loving message: "Will do anything for you. And Kai. Will do anything to see you both smile. Hear you both sing. The love I have for you both."

2. Lotus Flower

Around the same time she got her "ZK" tattoos done, Sarah also had a lotus flower tattooed on the back of her right shoulder. This was done by Wendell Denglauso of Alon Tattoo Studio in Cebu.

Sarah once shared to Cosmopolitan Philippines: “I got this lotus flower which means rebirth and new beginnings and that's all it's been recently. Lots of blessings. Lots of new and exciting things are happening for me. Sometimes, I catch myself [thinking], this is all happening all at once. [Life] has been amazing."

3. Chili

On her forearm, Sarah has a tiny hyper-realistic tattoo of a red chili or siling labuyo, which was done by tattoo artist Jonti Balbuena of Whiplash Tattoo in BF Homes, Parañaque. After she got her tattoo, she took to her Instagram Stories to share the reason behind it. “For my beautiful Bicolana momma and for my love [for] anything spicy.”

4. Angel

Done on the same day as her chili tat, Sarah had a cherub on a cloud tattooed on the back of her arm. In an exclusive chat with Preview, she revealed that the angel tattoo is for “all the people that were there for me during the most difficult time of my life,” particularly her kids and parents.

5. Iiman

Hidden on the backside of her rib is the Arabic word “iiman,” which means “faith.” ICYDK, Sarah is of Moroccan descent. Arabic is mainly spoken in Morocco, and Sarah also knows how to speak the language. Aside from that, the actress is fluent in French, and even a little bit of German and Italian. Her multilingual skills could have also been influenced by the fact that her father works as a translator at the United Nations.

6. Sun

There’s no doubt that Sarah is an island tropical girl through and through. Often, her go-to place for some R&R is the beach, so it’s no surprise that she got a dainty sun tattoo tatted on the side of her wrist.

7. Made in Heaven

Sarah has quite an affinity for red ink tattoos, and they suit her well! She once mentioned in an interview that she loves red ink because it’s the color "for love." Among her red-inked tattoos are the words “MADE IN HEAVEN” on the lower left side of her back. It isn’t often seen in photos as it is usually hidden by clothes, so if you’re in need of tattoo placement ideas that are discrete, this is a great spot.
