Because a 10-step skincare routine isn't enough to make you look like a K-drama leading lady.

The truth is, skincare can only do so much when it comes to achieving glass skinGetting a clear, dewy complexion requires a more holistic approach. While a consistent skincare routine does play a part, your lifestyle is also key. So even if you have 10-step skincare routine, if you're not getting enough sleep, not hydrating yourself with enough water, or not watching what you eat, it could be all for naught.

Getting that plump glass skin look takes time and effort, and admittedly, it's quite a challenge. But I'll let you in on a little secret: There are beauty treatments that offer a shortcut! If you've been wondering how Koreans are able to achieve that sought-after glass skin glow, this might just be the answer: Introducing the Glass Skin Booster.

Preview visited the Hernel Skin Clinic in BGC for an exclusive chat with Dr. Young Cho about this popular treatment in South Korea and how it can give you that flawless, hydrated skin reminiscent of K-drama leading ladies. Read on below.

What is the Glass Skin Booster?

Hernel's Glass Skin Booster is a micro-needling treatment inspired by the flawless skin of Korean celebrities, offering a shortcut to the coveted "glass skin" look. Using Hycoox (microneedles), it precisely delivers hyaluronic acid, amino acids, botox, and other anti-aging ingredients, resulting in healthy, hydrated skin with a dewy, delicate appearance, zero visible pores, and reduced inflammation. With minimal downtime, the treatment can be done every two to three weeks for maintenance or combined with other boosters like Rejuran, Chanel, or Exosome to address specific skin concerns.

Curious to know just how well this treatment works? I was intrigued by the Glass Skin Booster so I decided to give it a try myself. Check out my experience below.

A Review of Hernel’s Glass Skin Booster

Below is a photo of my skin before the treatment. Mind you, I’m not the type to wear foundation often. I’m more of a brow gel, blush, eyeliner, and lip balm kind of girl, so the texture that you see is my natural skin texture—and if we're being completely honest, it’s not looking great.

When I got my skin analysis done at Hernel, my skin was—surprise, surprise—not in the best shape. It was oily (but not moisturized), my pores had gotten bigger, and the machine also found some fine lines and dark spots.

This was my skin right after the treatment. Naturally, due to the needles that just pierced my face, there were some bumps and redness. They went away after a few hours though, and by the next day, the bumps were completely gone. When it comes to pain, thanks to the topical anesthetic that they applied before the procedure, I would say it was a 3/10. But then again, it really depends on your pain tolerance, so it could feel like a three to me and an eight to others.

Dr. Cho told me that I’d see the best results a week after the procedure, so I made sure to take tons of selfies that day. And, well, he didn’t lie.

Below’s a photo of what my skin looked like under natural light. No foundation, concealer, or highlight here. Just some blush and my skin’s natural glow. Much of my dark spots have lessened and, while there is still some texture, you can see that my pores are less noticeable.

Would I do the Glass Skin booster again? Absolutely. Would I recommend it to other people? Sure! If your goal is to get that dewy glow, I say go for it. If you’re worried about needles, don’t be. They use tiny microneedles that only penetrate the surface of your skin. Plus, Hernel will provide you with the proper pre- and post-care to ensure you feel and look your best.
