What is Officine Universelle Buly?
Originally founded in 1803 by father and son duo Claude and Jean-Vincent Bully on the iconic Rue St Honoré street in Paris, Officine Universelle Buly is a brand steeped in history. At the time, Paris was known to be the hotspot for all things fashion and beauty. They would set the tone for the trends which would influence Europe and then the rest of the world. Among all the beauty pharmacies and perfumeries in the city, Bully was one of the most famous.
They became known for their vinegar-based fragrance designed to fight body odors, nourish the skin, and cure diseases. Bully’s Vinaigre de Toilette won the best-seller awards at the 1867 and 1878 Expositions Universelles. Unfortunately, Claude Bully lost his shop in a riot, forcing him to sell it, and later die in poverty.
Centuries later, in 2014, visionary couple Victoire de Taillac and Ramdane Touhami would be responsible for the rebirth of Bully’s brand—but now only with one ‘L’. With Officine Universelle Buly, the couple aims to restore the greatness that Claude and Jean-Vincent Bully once had, using a blend of traditional and modern perfumery techniques. They have also expanded the brand’s offerings to candles, diffusers, body care, hair care, oral care, and skin care.
Small Laude’s Favorite Products from Officine Universelle Buly
In one of her vlogs, Small Laude took us to Officine Universelle Buly's branch at Greenbelt 3. Her mission? To restock her favorite orange blossom-scented body wash, the Huile De Savon Berkane. She also revealed her other top picks from the brand's fancy offerings, including a matching orange blossom body oil, another body wash in a powdery scent, the Huile De Savon Heliotrope Du Perou, and her previous go-to scented candle: the Alexandrie, infused with a green blend of lemon, blackcurrant, and mint tea, spiced up with ginger and sweetened with vanilla. She even bought herself a unique alabaster diffuser with the scent Campagne D’Italie a vibrant, yet deep blend of bergamot, grapefruit, cedar and sandalwood.

Her hubby and sons also joined her on her shopping spree, and they revealed some of their favorite products, too. Her husband, business tycoon Philip Laude chose the Eau Triple Yuzu de Kiso, a water-based fragrance infused with a fresh burst of Japanese yuzu lemon combined with mint and Japanese laurel. Her son Michael favored the Huile De Savon Au Lichen D'ecosse, a scented liquid soap with green notes of galbanum, moss, and patchouli that is perfect for the summer. He also chose the Annibal scent with notes of cedar, patchouli, and leather combined with a crystallised accord of cumin and jasmine for the home diffuser.
