Two days ago, Maris Racal dropped three smoldering posts on the 'gram revealing her new haircut. Okay, we have to emphasize that this was a very big deal– since time immemorial, Maris has been keeping her tresses super long, and they've become a key part of her signature look. It would have been hard to imagine her with shorter locks, but now that the results are out, we've got to admit that she looks amazing.
"Finally achieved my dream haircut! Super tagal ko na 'to gustong gawin. Now, what would i call this era?" she wrote.
An avalanche of Instagrammers were quick to point out the obvious: Maris' layered brown cut, highlights and all, made her the spitting image of Rachel from Friends. "The Rachel Era!" one user commented in response to Maris' prompt.
Rachel Green, Jennifers Aniston's character on the mega hit sitcom, is credited for being a major beauty and style driver of the late 1990s. It was because of her that 11 million British women got wispy layered bobs, pining after "The Rachel" haircut that originated from the show's second season.
Post-Season 2, Rachel's hair grew out into the layered, shoulder-length long bob that Maris is channeling.
Maris even nailed that '90s tank top and jeans combo! We agree with the Instagram user who encouraged her to recreate Rachel's lewks. How cool would that be?
