What inspired you to enter the world of makeup artistry?
"I've been into the arts and painting for as long as I can remember. There’s something about colors and creating beauty that fascinates me. And when I started playing with makeup, I found the perfect combination of the hobby of coloring and creating beauty at the same time."
How did you start working with Blythe and what has that journey been like ever since?
"I started working with Blythe when she was 13 years old for a campaign shoot where I was the makeup artist. Ever since then, we’ve been constants."
What’s a typical day like for you when you’re working with Blythe?
"Blythe is very easy to work with. Her face can transform from sweet to super glam. I’ve known her since she was young so it’s like hanging out with a friend every time."
What do you enjoy most about working with Blythe?
"Not a lot of people are aware but Blythe is very down-to-earth, funny, and full of wisdom. Our conversations every time she’s in my makeup chair can go from the funniest to the deepest topics."
Can you share something about being her makeup artist that would surprise people?
"Blythe truly had such an impact on my life that I actually had her nickname tattooed on my hand, as it’s with this hand that I’ve created so many looks with her."
Can you share with us any products that you always reach for when doing Blythe’s makeup?
"Blythe does her own skincare routine. It’s important for her to start with a great base. Every time we get a chance to play with her own makeup products from Lucky Beauty, we use them because it’s also an opportunity for her to test them."
Is there a favorite look that you’ve done for Andrea and what made it so special?
"We recently made some TikTok content, and in one of the looks she transformed into Darna. It’s not often that we get to play dress up and do glam at the same time."
Andrea has a diverse range of looks for different occasions. How do you adapt your makeup style to suit different roles or events she’s attending?
"Blythe is such a chameleon. Her face can easily carry heavy makeup, but it can also be angelic with a more Korean style. I am blessed to be working with a beauty like hers."
How do you stay inspired and creative in your work?
"Being up-to-date with makeup trends in magazines and websites keeps me inspired. Traveling and observing beauty looks from different countries also inspires me."
Do you have any favorite makeup trends right now?
"As much as I am into super glam trends, I always go back to classic beauty looks. I love it when my clients still appreciate their makeup even after five years."
