When you think of a "pretty" makeup look, pink lips, flushed cheeks and barely there eyeshadow usually come into mind. But if you're not into rose-colored hues, why not opt for fiery cinnamon shades? With the resurgence of the '90s browns, NARS makeup artist Mac Igarta creates a sultry alternative to the typical pinched-pink face on his current muse, rising talent and September 2016 Preview cover girl Lauren Reid.
"It’s all about neutral tones that look fresh," says Mac, as he explains that this look is a play on (high)light and shadow. He also has a cool trick: "Dotting" the obvious spaces in between your lashes with liquid liner instead of drawing one bold flick for barely there lids and fuller lashes.
Truth is, there are few products needed to cop this muted golden glow that looks pretty tough, too. See them below:
1. BASE
"A tinted foundation is perfect to achieve natural-looking, glowing skin."

2. EYES
"I used one of my favorite base eyeshadows because of the warm gold tones that can match any skin color. Then, for natural-looking brows, I drew hair-like strokes after grooming with clear mascara."

3. CONTOUR
"Blending and using a proper contouring brush is key. If you still see a harsh line on the area that you are contouring, it means you didn’t blend it well."

4. LIPS
"Brown lipstick actually suits most skintones. But you can also use a lipgloss on top for a more youthful look."
