Jennylyn Mercado and Dennis Trillo tied the knot in November 2021. Both celebrities have children from previous relationships, but they welcomed their first child together, Dylan, in 2024. Their journey to complete their family, however, was far from easy. Followers of the couple's YouTube channel know they went through the rigorous process of in-vitro fertilization (IVF).
In a recent cover story with Cosmopolitan Philippines, Jennylyn Mercado shared more about her IVF journey and the challenges she and Dennis faced while trying to build their family.

“Ang hirap nu’n para sa amin kasi nakakailang try na kami. Kasi ang plano lang naman namin is makapagpa-harvest lang ng eggs kasi nagkakaedad na ako. Ginawa namin yan 34, 35 years old na ako. So medyo mahirap na,” she admits.
The couple first attempted to harvest her eggs in the Philippines but were unsuccessful due to stress. They then flew to the United States to try again and finally managed to produce one perfect embryo. “Dapat marami [silang na-harvest, pero] one lang talaga. So ganoon ako kahirap. Pero naniniwala ako na talagang kung ibibigay sa’yo, ibibigay sa’yo,” she says.
Miraculously, Jennylyn was able to get pregnant naturally. “Hindi ko na kailangan mag-harvest. Hindi ko na kailangan ng mga medication. Talagang nangyari na lang siya,” she shares.
Jennylyn’s fertility journey has become a beacon of hope for other women facing similar challenges. Offering her support, she advises, “Alam ko naman ang maraming kababaihan or family na nahihirapan talagang magka-baby. Gusto ko lang iparating sa kanila na huwag silang ma-pressure, huwag silang ma-stress, huwag silang magpa-pressure sa mga tao sa paligid nila. Kasi ang hirap din. Ang karamihan, ‘di ba, parang, ‘Okay lang ba kayong magkaka-baby?’ ‘Bigyan niyo na ako ng apo.’ Mas maganda ng walang pressure.”
