The latest trend taking the TikTok beauty community by storm: hot glue graphic liner. Yes, you read that right. Hot glue isn’t just for crafting anymore. Beauty enthusiasts are using hot glue to elevate their eyeliner game and we’re actually kind of impressed with the results.

Mind you, a sane person would never ever put hot glue anywhere near their face. So, that begs the question: How did they do it?
In order to create these 3D graphic liner looks, these ladies drew their designs with the hot glue on a stainless steel surface—this allows the glue to be removed easily. Once the hot glue sets and is fully dry, they add a metallic eyeshadow of their choice to give the dried glue its much needed pop of color using a makeup sponge. Then they peel off their design, add some eyelash glue onto the back and stick it onto their face—and voila!

Now, the hot glue makeup trend isn't new. People have been sticking hot glue onto their faces to create unique makeup looks since as early as 2019. The idea of using hot glue specifically for 3D graphic liner designs was introduced by TikTok user Elaine Corredor (@pinkmonadeee), which inspired Vanessa Funes (@cutcreaser) to create her own look which basically created a domino effect and now thousands of people are trying it out.
