LOOK: “XO, Kitty” Actress Gia Kim Shares Empowering Bikini Post on Instagram

Posted in January 2023, the XO, Kitty star took to Instagram to share her earnest thoughts regarding body image. Attached with a series of shots and edits decked out in a red bikini, Gia revealed her struggles with an eating disorder and body dysmorphia in a heartfelt caption.

“I just don’t / won’t care anymore, in all aspects, in all regards. I’ve wasted too much precious time and energy, and most unfortunately, sacrificed my mental health,” she began. “Mid-ED recovery, I’m finally seeing my body for what it is and not what I want it to be.”

The actress then addressed the candid message to her body. “I should’ve always loved you but I always hated you. I always saw flaws first and tried to fix you to be something else,” she wrote.

“And I’m so so sorry for all the toxic diet [B.S.] I’ve put you through. Thank you for being with me through the thick and thin. I will always cherish you, nourish you, and make the best decisions for you because you house my spirit, my soul and connect me to this world. I’m sorry it took me this long to see your value. I’ve been so hard on you for too long. I love you, I love you, I love you, and I always will.”

The up-and-coming star’s comments section was filled with encouraging messages from both old and new fans, including Gossip Girl and Riverdale director Pamela Romanowsky.

“Well said. Our bodies can do amazing things and deserve so much love,” the filmmaker wrote. “You are a beautiful person in every way [heart emoji].”

She also took the opportunity to address the inappropriate DMs she receives from men. She concludes, "If you can’t put it in the comments, don’t put it in my DMs. Let me feel good in my body without your sexualizing it. Keep your thirsty reactions to yourself. It’s not flattering. It’s creepy, unwelcome, and often predatory. I will block you. You have been warned."
