Everybody has their own set of features that make them stand out. Sadly, the things that make us unique are also often seen as flaws, either by other people or ourselves. Case in point: Many have questioned why Catriona Gray hasn't gotten a laser treatment yet to have her many moles removed. In Preview's exclusive chat with Miss Universe 2018, she finally tells us why.
Here’s Why Catriona Gray Doesn’t Want Her Moles Removed
“I really feel like it’s the focus on unique features and emphasizing the features that we have without trying to alter them to look like everybody else,” Catriona explains.
“Usually, those are the comments that I get from people. It’s like, ‘Oh, ang dami mong nunal pala,’ and it brings up different conversations. For some people, it’s like, ‘Why don’t you get them removed?’ [Because] I love them!" she exclaimed.
Rather than letting other people's comments about her moles get to her, Catriona embraces them, and by doing so, it has even inspired other people to embrace theirs.
"Some people are like, ‘You give me the confidence to embrace mine. Beauty really is so subjective that I feel like the tone of wanting to embrace what’s unique is a really empowering one. Cause it's not saying ‘Oh, you need to change it. No! You need to embrace it. Embrace what we have; it's what makes us special and what makes us beautiful.”
