This new TikTok beauty trend is proposing a new blush placement.

Achieving the "sunkissed" or "drunk blush" look often entails dabbing your favorite, warm-toned blush on the tip of your nose, then across the apples of your cheeks. It's a surefire way to mimic that natural and barely-there flush, after all. But as of late, the beauty gals over at TikTok are championing a new blush placement to achieve a different kind of rosy glow: the Boyfriend Blush.

What Is the Boyfriend Blush?

The concept of "boyfriend blush" is all about achieving fuller, rosy cheeks. It mimics the natural flushed look men often get, where they get bright, rosy rouge after doing some physical activity under the sun. While the TikTok beauty trend is credited to influencer Mallory Osses, this isn’t an entirely new concept. It's actually a resurgence of a '90s beauty trend, where makeup lovers emulated the famously rosy cheeks of Prince Harry and Prince William. Now dubbed the "boyfriend blush," this technique aims to create rosier cheeks while subtly sculpting the face.

Unlike the "drunk blush" and "sunkissed" looks, this trend focuses on applying blush from the center of your cheeks down to your jawline, replicating the way the skin naturally reddens.

How to Achieve the "Boyfriend Blush" Look

1. Choose the Right Shade

Select a shade that best complements your natural skin tone. Opt for soft pinks, peaches, or even a hint of berry to mimic a natural flush. For this look, we recommend going for cream blushes–they’ll seamlessly blend into the skin while giving you that dewy finish.

2. Placement is Key

Dab some blush right below your cheekbones in an almost straight line. Do note that this placement is less about precision, and more about defining your face.

3. Blend

Using a brush or a beauty sponge, blend the product outwards, in the same triangle shape. Spread it across the center of your cheeks down to the tip of your jawline.
