It’s Met Gala season, and guests arrived in full bloom following this year’s theme: The Garden of Time. When the theme was first announced in February, everyone was waiting in anticipation to see what looks the guests would be bringing to the red carpet. As usual, some stars struggled to follow the dress code, while others were spot on. Ahead, we list down the top beauty looks that brought the fantasy to life at the Met steps.
The Best Beauty Looks at the 2024 Met Gala
Zendaya
Zendaya is undoubtedly one of the most anticipated guests at the Met Gala, always nailing the theme, and this year was no different. She brought the evil queen fantasy to life with her skinny brows and vampy lips reminiscent of 1920s flapper makeup.

Elle Fanning
This year's Met Gala theme was made for Elle Fanning. I mean just look at her. Everything from her glossy blonde hair, glass skin, stained lips, and rosy blush proves that she truly is in her element.

Sydney Sweeney
A departure from her usual girl-next-door look, Sydney Sweeney graced the red carpet with jet-black hair, glitter-dusted from her face down to her decolletage. Her beauty look was done by her long-time makeup artist Melissa Hernandez using all Armani beauty.

Emma Chamberlain
Each year, Emma's looks just keep getting better and better, and this year she hit the nail on the head by embracing her dark feminine energy with a moody, forest-fairy vibe. She matched her earthy ensemble with matte and monochrome brown makeup—think latte makeup with a grungier twist.

Rebecca Hall
Gracing the red carpet in a Danielle Frankel gown was Rebecca Hall who complemented her floral ensemble with a slick wet hair look and floral body paint. It was as if she was plucked right out of a Millais painting.

Gwendoline Christie
Gwendoline Christie was a true Maison Margiela muse at the Met Gala, swathed in a body-hugging velvet red gown. Her beauty look was done by none other than the legendary PatMcGrath transforming the actress into a walking porcelain doll.

Jennifer Lopez
Who would’ve ever thought that the no-makeup makeup look and messy bun would make its way to the Met steps? Come to think of it, it is a fitting look for the Met Gala’s exhibit titled "Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion." Naturally, only J Lo. would be able to pull off such a lazy girl look and still make it look high fashion.

Gigi Hadid
Gigi Hadid channels old Hollywood glamour with a classic Marilyn Monroe-esque beauty look, proving that less really is more when you use the right colors. We’re really loving how this vibrant red lip looks on her complexion.

Ariana Grande
Ariana is famed for her winged eyeliner, for her Met look she decided to take her wings to the next level by attaching these 3D angel wings to the side of her eyes. This look was created by Ariana's trusted makeup artist Michael Anthony using all R.E.M. beauty products. He specifically used the Interstellar Highlighter Topper in the shade Miss Mercury, Hypernova Satin Matte blush in the shade Pinking of U, and the lip stain marker in the shade Booked n Busy.

Lana Del Rey
Lana Del Rey looked ethereal as usual. Her makeup artist Etienne Ortega made her ombre lips the highlight of her look, using products from his eponymous makeup line to recreate Lana’s signature lip combo: Soft Contour Lip Liner in Cinnamon Girl, followed by the Agave Glow Stick in Petals in the center, and topped off with a Blu Nectar Lip Oil.
