There's nothing quite as exhilarating as completing a good workout. Your energy levels are up, you feel good, and let's be real, you look good, too. But did you know that you can enjoy that same boost on your facial muscles?
Considered a workout for your face, the Belo EmFace treatment is the newest non-invasive procedure from the medical group. Given a thumbs up by perennial heartthrob Piolo Pascual, Hollywood actress Liza Soberano, and beauty queens Catriona Gray and Michelle Dee, EmFace promises a lifted and more defined visage as evidenced by the chiseled good looks of our favorite celebs.
But if you're wondering about its effects on non-celebrity folk, then look no further. Ahead, we run down and review what it's really like to try the Belo EmFace.
What is the Belo EmFace?
A completely non-invasive procedure, EmFace relies on high-intensity facial electromagnetic stimulation (HIFES) and radiofrequency (RF) to stimulate muscles and firm sagging skin for a toned and defined face.
What makes it different from other Belo treatments?
Aside from being completely non-surgical, it's the only Belo treatment that works with the muscles to sculpt the face. Our face has three layers: skin, fat, and muscle. While other treatments like Ulthera target collagen production in the skin to define the face, and other treatments like Belo's Excilis rely on melting fat, EmFace is the only one that works by stimulating the muscle to strengthen it as it gives your face a lift.
How the Belo EmFace Treatment Went:
I opted to get my treatments done at Belo Greenbelt. It was my first time at that specific branch, and I was truly impressed by the clinic's scale and service. From the moment you enter, you'll feel that you're definitely in for a luxe treat with their elegant interiors resembling a swanky hotel lobby.

After registering and being offered refreshments, I was taken to the chic and spacious treatment room where the EmFace machine was stationed. I then met with Dr. JP Jalandoni who explained the technology behind the treatment, and told me how EmFace tightens the facial muscles, leaving a more toned and defined face. He also recommended that I do the treatment once a week for four weeks.

For the actual EmFace procedure, I was first asked by my therapist Hannah, then in later weeks Napsa and Rexie, to inhale a soothing lavender essential oil fragrance. My therapist proceeded to apply the ZO Cleanser to ensure that my skin was squeaky clean, so that the special EmFace appliques would adhere easily. They'd then stuck a grounding pad in my back, before placing the pads on my cheeks and forehead. Just a reminder that since this procedure uses electromagnetic waves, you'll be asked to remove all metal accessories, so please don't get any new piercings during your treatment timeframe. Safety first!

Is the Belo EmFace treatment painful?
No needles are involved in Belo EmFace, and while "no pain, no gain" or "tiis-ganda" are usual adages thrown when talking about facelifts, the same can't be said about this treatment. There's a little bit of heat from the RF component, but you can comfortably tone it up or down—just tell your therapist.
The HIFES will make your muscles twitch, and the contractions are a bit disconcerting at first—imagine little hands gently directing your mouth to smile and eyes to squint, as if eating something sour. But again, it doesn't feel painful at all. The best part? After 20-25 minutes, you're done! No downtime whatsoever, so you can go on with your busy schedule.
Results
Seeing my face get sculpted week after week was a treat. I'd notice visible changes after each session, but nothing would beat seeing a side-by-side comparison of the before and after.

After four sessions, my complexion became tighter and my face became more lifted. My cheeks were less fluffy, and my jawline looked more defined. It has been a while since I've seen that jawline sans contour and I was definitely thrilled!

Conclusion
I'd highly recommend the Belo EmFace to those who want a quick and painless procedure for a firmer and more defined complexion. I love how a 20-minute session can deliver its promised results, and instill a lasting confidence, even long after my last visit.
It's also a great gateway treatment if you're considering facelifts and invasive procedures to target skin elasticity and facial definition. Not only did its immediate effects leave me dreaming up future possibilities with my next sessions, but my weekly visits also allowed me to chat with my therapists and demystify the other more "intimidating," invasive treatments.
While each session does come with a pretty hefty price tag starting at P38,000, they do offer in-store package promos from time to time, so it's best to follow them on their socials to score a good deal—I know I'll be!
Belo EmFace is available at Belo BGC, Cebu, Conrad, Davao, Greenbelt, Greenhills, Shangri-La Plaza, and TriNoma
