For the longest time, Bela Padilla has always had long dark hair both on and off screen. It was only this year that the actress decided to take the plunge and finally say goodbye to her long locks!
Her first transformation happened in July when she decided to get a chic shoulder-length lob with the help of Elle Bondoc. “Fresh cut, fresh start. Yes, you can start again in July. You can start again anytime,” she wrote in her caption. And then, just the other day, the actress decided to cut her hair even shorter—and we're loving her new look!
LOOK: Bela Padilla Finally Gets Her Dream Bob Cut
Walking down the streets of London, Bela shares a snap of her fresh new do on Instagram–a classic dainty bob in a light brown shade courtesy of Nick Latham of London-based hair salon The Hair Bros. “The shortest I’ve gone and probably will ever go. Thank you, Nick! I loved meeting you yesterday and you really are the master of the bob,” she wrote in the caption.
“I can’t explain how liberating it is to have my long hair cut short,” the actress began. “Since I could remember, I’ve always had long (always dyed black) hair for my roles,” mentioning how that’s always been the standard for what a “beautiful Filipina” is and given her line of work, it’s one of the main reasons why she never decided to cut her hair, until now.
“I tend to associate how I look with moments in my life. And Manila will always have me and my long black hair,” she said. “London now has me in this phase of my life. Short enough hair that I’m reminded where I am every time the wind blows and I feel the chilly air on my neck, in a colour as close as I’ve been to my real hair colour in a long time.”
“I’ve never been sentimental or scared about cutting my hair because it grows back so quickly, but I always think of work… I’m happy I finally went for my dream cut.”
ICYDK, Bela currently lives in London and is studying at The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. Despite being a jetsetter, the actress decided to move to the UK back in 2021, not solely to be near her boyfriend Norman Bay, but also because she’s been looking for something new to do in her life. In one of her vlogs, she explained that she felt that she would be more productive there. She said, “It just makes more sense for me to live here.”
You look great with your new 'do, Bela!
