Ashley Garcia just opened up about her rhinoplasty journey, which she got for herself to celebrate her 26th birthday. In an almost 20-minute video, the Gen Z content creator shared all the deets that went behind her nose job, from pre-op tips to post-op blues, and more!

Before anything else, the vlogger got candid about her reason for getting the cosmetic enhancement. As per Ashley, part of the why behind her decision was a nose thread lift gone wrong.
Last year, she opted for the non-surgical procedure with an unruly clinic who posted her before and after photos without her consent. “I felt so hurt and extremely disrespected,” said the 26 year old. The resulting TikTok video, which quickly gained over a million views, dealt a hard blow to Ashley’s self-esteem as everyone on the internet was suddenly fixated on her nose. “When you have that insecurity, it just echoes inside your head. And it gets a little bit louder when a lot of people think the same thing and they say it to you and they shove it down your face,” she recalled.
To make matters worse, the procedure caused more harm than good in the long run. “After months of that procedure nakita ko yung negative effects ng nose threads sa ilong ko,” Ashley shared. “Mas naging tabingi siya tapos nagkaron ng mga bumps na hindi ko na matago minsan ng makeup.”
Now, after an admittedly traumatic experience, her most important tip before getting rhinoplasty is to do your research and to find a trusted doctor with preferably little to no social media presence. For her part, Ashley revealed that she went through multiple consultations before landing on Doctor Edwin Del Rosario of Centuria Medical Makati, whom she found purely through word of mouth and glowing reviews.
The good doctor gave her Revision Rhinoplasty with Gore-Tex Implants, which turned out to be more costly than the usual since Ashley’s nose had already gone through the needle from her previous procedure. While the surgery went smoothly this time around, the content creator admitted to falling into post-rhinoplasty blues and even got real about the emotional distress she experienced following the surgery.
“This is the time na sobrang swollen yung nose mo. When you look in the mirror you would ask yourself questions. Dito na papasok yung doubts if you did the right thing or if you just made things worse,” said Ashley. “Sobrang laking adjustment niya…I felt like it was the end of my career.”
After everything she went through, Ashley couldn’t stress enough the importance of post-op care. Luckily for her part, she had an attentive doctor and nurse whom she kept in contact with throughout her healing journey. She also leaned on her boyfriend and family for support, helping to battle her doubts and insecurities.
While she’s happy with the results three months later, Ashley ended her video with a reminder to her young viewers: that their natural beauty is more than enough. She elaborated, “In no way, shape, or form I am encouraging you guys to get any surgical procedure. Please believe me when I say this, that you are beautiful in your own way.”
